The Austrian Country Hub of the UN Initiative – United for Smart Sustainable Cities (U4SSC) – provides an international platform for information exchange and partnership building to guide cities and communities towards successfully implementing the U4SSC Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for smart, sustainable cities.
Sustainable Development and Resilience: Access best practices, tools, and knowledge to enhance the ability to address pressing issues that benefit the environment and improve quality of life for residents.
Networking and Collaboration: Leverage a global network of cities, governments, and private sector partners to access funding, technical expertise, and innovative solutions, making it easier to implement smart and sustainable initiatives.
Innovation: Stay on the cutting edge of technology trends, fostering innovation in areas like transportation, energy, healthcare & governance for the purpose of optimizing resources, reducing costs, and offering improved services to citizens.
The U4SSC KPIS are a vital policy tool for cities wishing to achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
The KPIs support cities and communities worldwide in evaluating the role and contribution of ICTs and digital technologies in enabling smartness and sustainability, and provide a tool for evaluation and benchmarking of performance , through the U4SSC KPI evaluation and reporting process, in achieving the UN SDGs.
